Mysterious Life Museum is a comprehensive museum including collection, scientific research and exhibition of plastinated specimen of human body, vertebrate and marine animal. The museum’s construction started in 2009. This modern European building is located in Lushunkou District, Dalian, a city proud for its long history and cultural abundance. It has an exhibition area of 2600 m² and is the only comprehensive museum allows visitors to look for the signs of life.

There are thousands of exhibits in the museum and hundreds of them are top-notch plastinated specimens, worthy of billions of RMB. Some exhibits are candidates for Guinness record. Every single piece of exhibits here strikes the world with amazement. All exhibits in the museum are preserved by the most advanced plastination technology and tissues are vivid as if they are alive. In this technique, a vacuum physical process is applied, that is to say, the water and fat in biological tissue are replaced by high-molecular polymers such as silicone rubber, epoxy resin and polyester resin through an impregnation process. The plastinated specimens are dry, odorless, durable, long-preserved and easy for study. The subtle structures of tissues and cells are identical with their original conditions; therefore, the specimens have a high value in education, research and science popularization.
